In 2022, the Fair Trade Advocacy Office (FTAO) remained committed to championing policies that foster fair, sustainable, and rights-based global trade. From advocating for deforestation-free supply chains to ensuring corporate sustainability due diligence legislation includes smallholder farmers' perspectives, our efforts have been instrumental in shaping key European policies.
The year also saw significant progress in trade and sustainable development discussions, as well as ongoing efforts to prohibit forced labour in supply chains. As we continue our mission into 2023, we remain focused on ensuring that global trade policies prioritize people and the planet over profit.
