Young Fair Trade Advocates

project
The Young Fair Trade Advocates (YFTAs) are a dynamic group of young people united by a common goal: to promote a global transition towards equity, sustainability and inclusion. Since 2021, YFTAs have been actively engaged in advocacy activities, holding dialogues with EU policymakers and representatives from the Global South, and drafting policy papers to push for reform of the current socio-economic system, which threatens the lives of billions of people.
As an initiative of the Fair Trade Advocacy Office, the YFTAs place young people at the heart of rethinking global systems and driving the paradigm shift towards sustainable trade and consumption patterns. The ambition of the YFTAs is to create a world that prioritises diversity, uplifts marginalised communities and addresses the urgent challenges posed by climate change.
What sets YFTAs apart is their strength in making meaningful connections with young producers and artisans in the Global South. These voices play a critical role in shaping their advocacy work and their vision for a more just and sustainable future.
